James Gallagher is a copy editor for a major audiobook company. For more than ten years, James has also performed freelance editing through his company, Castle Walls Editing, LLC. This blog is meant to address general grammar issues and the frustrations and joys of life as an editor. The title of the blog references the notion that good copy editors read letter by letter, while casual readers often unknowingly skip letters or read by the whole-word method.
